Balancing Chakras with Chai

In Indian culture, Yoga and Ayurveda flow together for optimal health and well-being. Yoga asanas (poses) relieve tension and bring the body into alignment. Ayurveda, meaning "knowledge of life" is an ancient holistic healing system balancing the mind, body and spirit through diet, herbs, yoga, meditation and lifestyle changes. Certain spices and herbs are used to restore balance.
You have 12 Chakras with the 7 main chakras located in the center of your body. They align from just below your naval to the top of your head. The other 5 Chakras are a few Inches below your feet/above your head.
Chakra Chai
(substitute as needed)
8 whole black Peppercorns - Earth Star Chakra
3 whole Cloves - Root Chakra
1/2 tsp fresh grated Ginger - Sacral Chakra
1 Star Anise - Solar Plexus + Soul Star Chakra
1 Cardamon Pod - Heart Chakra
1/4 inch Cinnamon Stick - Throat Chakra
Pinch grated Nutmeg - Third Eye + Crown Chakra
1 tsp Assam Black Tea
200ml Milk or substitute with water
1 tsp Honey
Nutmeg for Third Eye + Crown Chakra instead of Sage + Eye Bright
Please substitute ingredients if you have any allergies.
Crush all DRY spices except Nutmeg and Ginger (wet) in mortar/bowl
Add loose black tea and mix
Place ALL dry + wet ingredients in tea bag except Nutmeg
Warm the milk and add tea bag, soak
Add pinch Nutmeg and let sit for a wee while before drinking
